QuickBooks Bill Pay
QuickBooks bill pay is a great feature if you keep your books on an accrual basis or if you want to keep track of your bills when they come in but not pay them right away.
However, it is not necessary to use this feature. If you prefer, you can go directly into the "write checks" window and pay your bills from there. How to Use QuickBooks Bill Pay - Click on "Vendors"
- Click on "Enter Bill"
- Fill in your bill information.
- Select "Save and New" to enter another or "Save and Close."
Shortcut: You can also click on the bill icon and it will take you directly to the window where you enter your bill. To make the bill icon available, - Click on "View"
- Click on "Customize Icon Bar"
- Select "Bill"
- Click on "Add"
- Click on "OK"
How To View Bills There are several reports to help you view your bills. To view all the bills that you owe, - Click on "Reports"
- Select "Vendor Reports"
- Select "A/P Aging Summary" for a report of how much you owe to each vendor or "A/P Aging Detail" for a detailed list of all the bills you owe to each vendor.
How To Pay Bills - Click on "Vendors"
- Click on "Pay Bills"
- Select the bills you want to pay (hint, you can select more than one vendor at once).
- On the bottom right, click "Pay Selected Bills"
- If you're printing the checks from QuickBooks, select "Let QuickBooks assign check numbers."
- Click "OK"
Wondering where your paid bills / checks went? - Click on "File"
- Choose "Print Checks" and you'll see all your checks that you've written listed there.
For instructions on how to print checks from QuickBooks, click here. If you need to make changes to your check before or after you print it, you can find it either by using the "Find" feature in QuickBooks or if it's a recent check, you can just click on "Check", and keep clicking "Previous" until you find the check you want to make changes to. Make you changes and "Save and Close" or "Save and New" if you need to write more checks. If you made changes and didn't mean to, you can click on "Revert" and the check will go back to what it looked like the last time you saved it. Where do you want to go now?
